Korean Karate

Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation is proud to offer Korean Karate for boys and girls in Kindergarten and up.  In these classes students will learn basic self-defense skills such as blocks, kicks, and strikes.  Participants will learn choreographed moves called forms.  Also, students will learn various block and counter-attack drills with partners.  Bag drills will be used to increase focus, power, and technique.  In addition to learning karate skills, classes offer increased flexibility, balance, coordination, and muscle tone.  Participants will be required to wear a white karate uniform.  All karate testing will be at the instructor’s discretion and will carry an additional fee.  Classes will be held on Saturdays mornings. The classes will run monthly.  Registration is $20 per person per month, payment is required at the time of registration, and class sizes are limited to the first 25 registrants per class.

Levels offered are:
Beginner Class 9:00-9:50am (white and yellow belt)
Intermediate Class 10:00-10:50am (white belt - purple belt)
Advanced Class 11:00-11:50am (brown and black belts)
