The 2010 Playground Program is made possible by grants awarded by EcoLab and the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle. The Summer Playground Program will begin on June 14 and end July 23. Playground hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Children 6–12 years of age are eligible for this program. Participants are required to bring $5 each day they attend, $3 if the child has a WV CHIP’s card, $2 if the child participates in SNAP. Identification is required to receive the discounted price.

The Parks & Recreation Summer Playground staff will provide activities at the playground sites. Children will be transported by Berkeley County school buses several times a week for swimming, bowling, roller skating, and planned special activities. Fees will be charged for field trips, swimming, etc., and visits to other recreational facilities. These fees will be indicated on weekly schedules. Frequency of attendance is at the discretion of the parent/guardian. Transportation to and from the sites and a bag lunch are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Parents must be prompt in picking up their children at 3:00 pm. Before and after care is not available for this program. Pre-registration IS NOT required… just sign up the first day the child attends!
